On Lenovo920 laptop, Skype for business microphone volume is very slow.


Sign in on Skype with Lenovo Yoga920 and offer the Automatic Gain Control characteristic via Options > Audio Device > automatically place microphone volume on calls. When you connect a Skype call, you may find that the microphone loudness is still too low.

While creating an online meeting on Skype for Business using MS Outlook, sometimes Outlook stops or fails to make the meeting. This problem happens when the Outlook operates in a terminal server session, on Windows Server 2008 R2.


You need to install KB4022155 update for Skype for Business 2016 which is released on June 5, 2018 at setup and apply the following GPO:

Group Policy settings:

  • Open the Group Policy Management panel and found a new Group Policy Object.
  • Enter GPO name and source as none
  • On the Settings, right-click on User Configuration or Computer Configuration and select Edit.
  • Right-click on the registry and select New Registry Item from the drop-down menu. You can deploy the registry key under user configuration or computer configuration.

Specify the Registry information in the form as below:

  1. Action : “Create”
  3. Key path : Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\AddinPreference
  4. Value name : EnableOptimizeProcessSearch
  5. Value type : REG_DWORD
  6. Value data : 1
  7. Base: Decimal

Remark that by default, the EnableOptimizeProcessSearch is 0, so you have to create and apply the beyond GPO to permit the issue.

KB 4294968:

It’s showing orange dot without a count is shown for a conversation in Skype for Business 2016


If you have no any unread messages for any conversation before you sign out MS Skype for Business 2016 and when you sign in again, it may show orange dot without a count is indicated for the conversation.


For solving this problem, you just need to install KB4022155 update for Skype for Business 2016 released on June 5, 2018

Skype for Business 2016 or 2015 crashes in a Citrix-based VDI environment


When you use Microsoft Skype for Business 2015 or 2016 in a Citrix-based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environment, the Skype for a Business client may crash. This happens because certification string isn’t proposed size which is passed by Citrix.
