How To Troubleshoot Sharing Errors in SharePoint and OneDrive?

There are different errors which you encounter when you share files or folders from SharePoint or OneDrive in Microsoft 365. In this article, you will read the solution of sharing errors in SharePoint and OneDrive. But if the user need any help, then they call the customer care of MS Office via office.com/setup.

Solution To Fix Sharing Errors in SharePoint and OneDrive: Www.office.com/setup

1. Error OSE201:

Solution : This error shows that external sharing is turned off from all of your SharePoint and OneDrive sites. First, you have to change the external sharing setting. For this, you should go to the Sharing page of the new SharePoint admin center and then just sign in with an account which has admin permissions. Now, under External sharing, for both SharePoint and OneDrive, you have to select Anyone or New and existing guests. Then, you should select Save option.

After this, you have to check the external sharing settings for the site which you want to share from.

 Sharing from a SharePoint site:

In the new SharePoint admin center which is in the left side, you have to select Sites and then choose Active sites. After this, you have to select the site which you want to share from and then just select Sharing. Now, you have to select New and existing guests or Anyone. After making changes, you have to select Save option and try to share again.

Sharing from OneDrive:

In the Microsoft 365 admin center which is in the left side, just under Users, you have to select Active users. Now, you have to select the user and then you have to select the OneDrive tab. After this, you have to select Manage external sharing. Then, you have to turn on the option Let people outside your organization access your site and then select the option Allow sharing with anonymous guest links and authenticated users or Allow sharing to authenticated guest users with invitations.

2. Error OSE204:

Solution: This error shows that sharing is turned off for the site which you’re trying to share from. Here, you can change the setting. For this, you should go to the Active sites page of the new SharePoint admin center, and then sign in with an account which has admin permissions. After this, you should select the site from which you want to share and then just select Sharing. Now, you should select the option New and existing guests or Anyone and then just select Save option and then again try to share.

3. Error OSE205:

Solution: This error shows that you can only share the site with guests which are already in your directory. Remember, you can add guests directly through Azure Active Directory and you can also change the setting. For this, you have to go to the Active sites page of the new SharePoint admin center and then just sign in with an account which has admin permissions. After this, you have to select the site from which you want to share and then just select Sharing. Then, you have to select either New and existing guests or Anyone and then you should select Save option.
