There are 3 ways to run MS Office on Linux:

1. Use Microsoft Office Online in the Linux browser.

3.  Install Microsoft Office 365 in a virtual machine.

Install MS Office On Linux:

1. Use Microsoft Office Online in the Linux Browser:
   Microsoft Office Online is not the complete suite of Microsoft Office, but it is an easy way to start Microsoft Office suite. All the applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook can be accessed through your browser and Microsoft account. As you are using MS Office through browser that is why it is not available offline. Office Online provide you limited collection of features.
   
2. Install Microsoft Office with PlayOnLinux:
   
   Install Wine and PlayOnLinux:
   
   For this, first open a terminal window and enter sudo apt install wine. Now you have to add the pulley key for PlayOnLinux software to run with Wine that is
   wget -q “http://deb.playonlinux.com/public.gpg” -O- | sudo apt-key add –
   Here you have to add the PPA information to the package manager.
   sudo wget http://deb.playonlinux.com/playonlinux_precise.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/playonlinux.list
   First update and then you have to install PlayOnLinux.
   sudo apt update sudo apt install playonlinux
   After this, just launch PlayOnLinux from Menu then on select Applications. Now, you have to click on the Office tab and then just select the Microsoft Office. After downloading the software, you have to enter the product key.
   
   Install Microsoft Office on Ubuntu with PlayOnLinux
   
   PlayOnLinux will ask you to select DVD-ROM or installation file. Then you have to select the option, and then click on Next. If you use the installation file, after the completion, Microsoft Office is ready to use and it will run smoothly. If PlayOnLinux doesn’t work, then you can use CrossOver. This is a paid tool and with this you can run newer versions of Microsoft Office. The installation of CrossOver is easy than PlayOnLinux, and the process of installing Office is similar. Windows software can run on Linux PC.
   
   
3. Install Microsoft Office 365 in a Virtual Machine:
   
   First start the virtual machine, then just log in to Windows and install Microsoft Office. After installing, you can run MS Office on Linux.
